White Plymouth Rocks
Barred Plymouth Rocks were first admitted into the standard in 1874, followed by the white variety in 1888 under the American Class. Today White Plymouth Rocks have been used to create Sex-links and have played an important roll in creating the commercial Cornish Rock Crosses.
Plymouth Rocks are generally quick maturing birds that are very good layers of brown eggs and can be very decent meat birds. Like my New Hampshires, they are calm, friendly and fairly inquisitive.

Exhibition Quality My Exhibition Quality White Plymouth Rocks are "my marshmallows", they are larger and more densely feathered ("fluffy") then the Production Quality Birds. They are slower to maturer then the Production White Rocks due to their larger size, but are marvelous in both show pens and yards. If desiring to show competitively, I would recommend this strain.
I have been working on improving their efficiency and this years breeding birds have been producing 4 (large brown) eggs per hen per week compared to 3 eggs per hen per week from last year.

Production Quality My Production Quality White Plymouth Rocks are very efficient layers, I typically set 5+ eggs per week from each week. The roosters have developed quickly and supply my family with plenty of meat. These birds are smaller then the exhibition quality fowl and grow faster then them. If your goal is to show chickens at the county fair or have eggs for the table, I would strongly recommend this line.
